2/3/2018 A Letter From Our FounderMy name is Scott Dixon, and I am the founder of Dixon Design. I wanted to take time to draft a post informing our consumers about what we offer and why we were founded. Dixon Design has been an idea of mine ever since I created a website in high school for a project. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and Dixon Design is a display of my passion for entrepreneurship as well as a passion for design. As a singer and an artsy individual, my interest in design was generated through creativity.
The business aspect of Dixon Design comes into play through my family. My grandfather founded a company that is now owned by my father, so I have spent my life around small businesses. Small business advertising is not easy, and I became inspired to build a website for my father. After I completed his initial design, I began to realize that this was something I could do to help other small businesses. During the last six months, I have spent an extraordinary amount of time creating a business model, to begin my own company. Six months removed from the inception of Dixon Design, I can say that I am confident and proud of what I have created. I have saved other small companies thousands of dollars, and I am so glad that I could help them. My business model may have changed thousands of times since I began this journey, but our goal always remained and will remain the same: Save small businesses money. Creativity is far from the only important component of a website. This is a fact I learned as I began my time in the industry. I have spent many hours learning about SEO, Search Engine Optimization: how websites are found in search engines. While I had the inherit ability to design, I needed to learn how to code better. During my time at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, I took classes related to computer science and marketing, which have greatly helped me. This final semester, I was lucky to be signed into a Continuing Education class at Assumption called, Search Engine Optimization. These classes and experiences have equipped me to confidently and effectively design websites unique to the needs of my clients. As I finish up my time at Assumption College, I sincerely look forward to continuing to grow with companies and individuals before I graduate. Dixon Design has grown from one to four employees, all aspiring and inspiring individuals. I have watched these people grow around me for the last four years and have learned their strengths and weaknesses. Dixon Design is bigger than just me. It is an opportunity for the companies who work with me. It is an opportunity for the people who work with me. It is something special that we can hold onto for the rest of our lives. Dixon Design is a growing experience for both us as well as the small businesses we advertise for. If you decide to work with us, I promise that you will save money, be fully satisfied and grow your business. Welcome to Dixon Design – We’re very happy to have you.
